| A verbal explanation or napkin sketch cannot fully convey a concept or vision. Photo-realistic renderings, 3D computer generated models, illustrations, and CAD drawings are powerful communication tools that convey to others the value and feasibility of a concept or vision. Importantly, they can present and explain when one is not present to do so in person. Often this imagery is created long before a concept is tangible and is used to study and compare variations in design. Once created, these powerful tools may be modified and duplicated in formats for use in marketing materials, presentations, web sites, and more. The beauty of a 3D computer model is the ability to showcase key features and multiple views, animate, disassemble, and study color and texture. 3D computer models are even used in 3D printing or rapid prototyping and when appropriate, to acquire manufacturing quotations. |
